The Paddy Plunge is on this Year!

No get together at RíRá's due Covid-19

Take the Plunge for a Good Cause

Join us for the annual Paddy Plunge

If you've ever wanted to see hundreds of adults jump into freezing-cold water, then mark your calendars-every St. Patrick's Day, the Portland Firefighters Children's Burn Foundation hosts the Paddy Plunge. All proceeds from the plunge benefit our foundation, which aims to help children who are burn victims. From 3/1 to 3/17, up to $5000 in total donations will be matched by "Burn Care Everywhere and Westchester Career Chief's Fire Academy Class 01-2020"

How does it work?

How does it work?

This year BYOB - Bring your own beach. This year due to Covid-19 we are not all congregating as a group to observe safe practices. So take the Plunge at any Maine Beach!

The Paddy Plunge is the Portland Firefighters Children's Burn Foundation's biggest fundraiser of the year, and you don't want to miss it. Want to participate? You can raise money for a participant for the chance to see them take the plunge. By taking part in the Paddy Plunge, you can:

  • Raise money for an excellent cause
  • Help burn victims find the support they need
  • Laugh while participants regret their choice to swim in ice-cold water

For good, freezing fun, reach out to the Portland Firefighters Children's Burn Foundation now to learn more about participating in the 2020 Paddy Plunge.

A tradition now for the last 17 years, raising over $375,000 to date, this year's event takes place on March 17, 2021 when our brave plungers will face the cold and jump into the water at the East End Beach at 8:00am for this extremely worthy cause.

We will take the plunge at 8:00am at the beach you have chosen. Share a photo on our Facebook page!
